FAQ

What is this web site?
Neko Heavy Industries is my aggregate portfolio. I enjoy doing a large range of different computer art related work. From 3D visual effects for films to pixel art for mobile games, you’ll find samples of it all here.

Why is it called Neko Heavy Industries?
The name Neko Heavy Industries is inspired by Japanese giant robot anime such as Patlabor and Martian Successor Nadesico. The robots always seem to be made by something Heavy Industries (eg. Nergal Heavy Industries, Shinohara Heavy Industries etc). Neko is Japanese for cat which is why this site has a cat motif.

What's on these pages?
Various portfolios, 3D animation, print design, illustrations, game artwork, my indy comics, as well as dull stuff like my resume and info on me. Look around, the site is always growing.

Can I hire you to do X?
YES! Just email me with a description of the project and we can talk about budgets, timeline etc.

Can I hire you to do X for free?
NO! However I may consider offers that would provide very wide exposure, and or, an exchange of services. For example if you're an accountant I'd be happy to trade logo design in exchange for having my accounts done this year.

Can I use X image on my commercial T-Shirts, skateboards, buttons, magazines etc.
YES! But it's going to cost you. You may find it's worth it to hire me to do a custom piece more suitable to your needs. I'm very interested in collaborating on such projects so don't hesitate to email me.

Can I use X image on my web site?
MAYBE! Some of the images on this site belong to clients, and are off limits. However if it is one of mine I'll probably let you use it providing you are using it for non-commercial purposes and not on a site full of porn.

If I do give you permission please do not alter the image in any way and provide an obvious link back to this web site. I also require that you copy the image and host it on your own server. Finally email me your url. I do retain the right to ask you to remove the image if I deem the site to be unsuitable or in poor taste. However this has yet to happen.

When is the next issue of your fabulous and entertaining mini comic SAS Alternative coming out? When it's done. SAS Alt is a labor of love, which is another way of saying it doesn't pay the bills. I work on it whenever I have free time. I'm trying to get at least one chapter done a year, which gives you an idea how much free time I have.
